Overview

Calculations provides a flexible, block-based environment for building engineering calculations. Chain reusable blocks together — each with defined inputs, formulas, and outputs — to model complex engineering problems.

Includes a full Roark beam calculation engine (18 cases with interactive SVG diagrams), a section profile database (132 Australian sections), hydraulics solvers, pipe design thickness blocks, pipe support span, and weld analysis tools. Every calculation is revision controlled and exportable to professional PDF reports.

Roark Beam Engine

18 load cases × 6 end conditions. Interactive SVG reference diagrams with live load position. 3-panel combined output (shear, moment, deflection). Section utilization checks (OK / MARGINAL / OVERSTRESSED).

Pipe Design

Pipe wall thickness to ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, AS 4041, and plastic pressure pipes (HDPE, PP-R, PVC-U). Pipe support span per AS 4041 with separate governing spans for small-bore and large-bore lines.

Section Profile Database

132 Australian sections across 8 categories: UB (30), UC (39), PFC (15), SHS (10), RHS (10), CHS (10), EA (10), UA (10). Cascading dropdowns: Region → Type → Size. Values in cm⁴/cm³/cm, converted on-the-fly.

PDF Reports

Full calculation export with all blocks, inputs, outputs, results, and embedded SVG diagrams. Professional format for design submissions and document control.

  • Hydraulics (10): Pipe Sizing, Pressure Loss (Darcy-Weisbach + Hazen-Williams), Tank Overflow, Pump Power, NPSH Available/Required, Velocity, Reynolds Number, Friction Factor, Equivalent Length, Minor Loss
  • Cross-Section (8): Area, Moment of Inertia, Section Modulus, Radius of Gyration — for Rectangular, Circular, I-Beam, T-Section, Channel, Angle, Box, and Custom profiles
  • Pipe Design (7): Pipe Thickness (ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, AS 4041, HDPE, PP-R, PVC-U) and Pipe Support Span (AS 4041 basis)
