3D Piping Model

3D Piping Model

Four things separate a real piping model from a pretty one. Most 3D piping tools get you maybe one.

CPD catches your mistake before you make it. Double-click a node to drop in an elbow and it checks there's enough straight pipe on both sides first. Get it wrong and it won't let the bend sit there. Get it right and it shortens the adjoining pipes and builds the bend geometry itself, at a radius of 1, 1.5, 3 or 5 pipe diameters, or your own number, across 16 standard sizes from DN50 to DN1050.

EngCoSuite edits the way your hand actually moves. Forgot a support three metres into a run? Double-click the pipe. It splits into two segments on the spot, and the new node is sitting there ready for whatever you need to hang off it.

CPD leaves the room fluent in someone else's language. 6 support types - anchor, rest, guide, line stop, spring can, spring hanger - up to 6 per node - export with their real SKEY codes (Anchor to ANCH, Spring Hanger to SPRING-HANGER) straight into a PCF an IsoGen isometric can open, or a CII a Caesar II stress run can chew on.

EngCoSuite remembers exactly what "current" meant. Alpha revisions run A through Z, then AA, AB - promote to numeric when it's time to issue for real. Open an old one and it's read-only, banner and all: "Viewing Rev X. Latest Rev is Y."

None of that is a rendering trick. It's the difference between a model a junior engineer can trust and one a senior engineer has to check node by node.

What's the one thing your current piping tool still makes you do by hand that it really shouldn't?
